Seems like a smart way for JLR to make some more money out of the deal judging by how many people track their shipment etc. I was so much the opposite. lol

I placed the order for the 2022 in March I think it was and the sales guy said now we wait, could be six months, I said cool my Q5 lease is up in six months so if it's any earlier that might be a problem. Next email, the larger screen might be a delay, I said whatever you guys have six months that should be enough, I'll stay the course with the larger screen. Next day or two I got an email that said good news it will be sooner, it's moved to the head of the build queue. Again I said that might be a bit of a problem it might have to sit on the lot for a month because I can't afford double payments. Sales guy said send me the info on the Q5, maybe we can buy it out. A day or two later, no we can't buy the lease out, sorry. Fast forward about four months. A week or two before the Defender was here he said your Defender is getting close, and also the market has changed significantly, send me the Q5 lease payoff info again. I emailed that back, ok cool, just let me know when it's here. A few days later it was here and they bought the lease out two months early. They probably made more money on the Q5 than the Defender, lol. I probably should've floated that thing by Carmax but it was a really busy time for me getting ready for a vacation. Oh well, we both got what we wanted.
