Default MY22 non-port installed accessories at delivery

I am taking delivery in the next week or so for my 2022 SE. I started the order as a MY21 and the accessories (Rack, steps, divider) were port installed then. Now the dealer is telling me it will be handled through parts/service.

Any advice on how that process works?

I’ve also heard about supply issues for the items on my list, but the dealer won’t answer my questions directly. “We will take care of you when it gets here” is their response.

Has anyone been able to get an OEM rack with delivery in the US recently?

When I placed my order in early March, I wasn't even offered port installed accessories. My sales associate ordered the items I wanted (roof rack, fender flares, ladder, rubber mats throughout and full cargo/dog barrier) right away and says that he's since received them and they're just being held for me in the parts department. I'll believe it when I see them. They will then proceed to charge me hourly labor to install everything upon arrival...

I added the front undershield as a port installed accessory once my car was already on it's way and it was added (and installed), also tried to add the rack, but my dealer told me it wasn't available at port (my dealer had one and the price they quoted for it installed was reasonable, so got from them). I would ask them to quote how much it will cost for them to "handle it" (as someone pointed out the installation labor rate can add $$, which is why it makes sense to add them at port, if they are available). The challenge is that ultimately, you are at the mercy of the dealer as it relates to information of what is available or not available (either because it isn't offered or because there is no inventory) at port.

Good advice. I’m really hoping they have the parts on order for me.

$900 was the quote to install the steps. I am going to watch the YouTube videos and give it a shot.

I got 10% off accessories at my dealer and found most of what I was looking for this week.

The install really isn’t that bad so I say definitely go for it. Pay attention to the part in the video where they are removing the underbody panels. There’s a bunch of steps you can save by cutting the panels in situ instead of having to pull them off and they’ve called that out after the fact. I was able to do that no problem and while leaving the wheels on (just turning the front to gain access when needed).

Good luck!
