Right here, again ‘23 non-U.S. Spec 90 X-Dynamic with the weird non-tinted rear side glass. If the link doesn't work just click her name or look it up directly on Insta.

why are my23 shipping in March of 2022? Seems crazy early.
I ordered a my21 in February of 2021. It got converted to a my22 in April of 2021 and delivered at the end of September on 2021. 6 months later they are shipping out the next model year? Seems like they are at best 3-4 months early. Thats a model year's of depreciation that equates to only a few actual months.

Defenders are crazy appreciated now, so it's better for us in the end. Means we get our vehicles a year early and we get less depreciation over that time. Also, JLR puts out MY's super early. MY 2021 was only out for like 3-4 months, 2020 for about the same, and 2022 for about 8 months.
The timing has been weird from the start I guess. The my2020 did not get to the US till summer. That explained why they shifted to my21 quickly. My22 then started early due them thinking they would not meet timelines, which seemed to work out correctly in my case as I took a fall delivery (typical time frame for start of new model year vehicle sales). March/April delivery of a my23 is not consistent with any of that.
I think they went to MY23 early because they needed to regroup their variant offerings and options due to the chip shortages. As stated elsewhere by someone on the forum, the earliest a vehicle can be labeled MY23 is one being built on Jan 1 2022 (at least here in the US). Since they apparently started immediately in January, MY23 will indeed be 1 full year no matter what. It could go further than that if they bring out the 130 later in the year as a MY23 as well. There could be a MY23.5 for the 110 if the 130 has any new tech that JLR may have been working on for it to make it extra special (and justify its likely substancial increased cost over a 110).
