Hey guys - been on here quite a while, but rarely have much to say - mostly just soaking up information. I ordered a 23.5MY Defender X back in early June, and my dealer tells me it has been built now and is waiting to get to port (I dunno how long that takes) and then get on a boat!! I have the VIN and everything. A few questions -

1) Do I just have to ask the sales person to find out what ship it ends up on so I can track the ship?
2) Does anyone know if the "Smart Rear View Mirror" is ClearSight (which is what I ordered, and is standard on X I believe, but they may have downgraded - sales person isn't sure)
3) Is there anything with the VIN I can look up or anything like that?

As far as 2) If you have a 23.5MY X, you will have the Clearsight Rearview Mirror which is the camera mirror. Only X and V8 Models will have it for 90, 110, and 130 Models for this MY.

 

Your sales rep can tell you the status ...ie; submitted to build, built, on ship, on truck to retailer ....and an "at retailer" date. Not sure about the ship name.

Fun to track it when it's close to shores. Panama canal transit is fun to watch.

No info to be had on the VIN when I looked it up. Just type of car, color etc. Nothing about minor spec details.

Not heard of smart mirror. Maybe it's a solar attenuating. Auto dimming or something like that. Maybe it's rebadged clearsight.

 

That's all I did. Dealer called telling me it was on a ship and I asked the ships name and they looked it up immediately while I was on the call

a double edged sword as now I know its ETA in California Sep 3 at 0600. Once it hits port there's no telling or tracking how long for final delivery to Denver and ultimately to my garage

Once you get the name of the ship you can track it on at least a couple different ship tracking sites. For a couple cars we ordered, based on this tracking I found beach cam websites and actually saw the ship in real time.

 

The best thing to do is ask your dealer for a copy of your build sheet from Vista or maybe an independent specialist can download it from Topix for you, it contains the full rundown of equipment fitted on the production line. I’ve attached the build sheet sent to us by our supplying dealer prior to the car arriving.

first time posting here all the way from New Zealand. My defender has been built and should arrive in about 6 weeks, I managed to get my dealer to send me the build sheet from Topix, but most items there are so cryptic. Its got " Full TFT/LCD Instr Cluster" same as the one you've attached. What driver display did you end up getting? (manual dials and small TFT in the middle or Full digital display)

 

Hi @Jomara my dealer just shared the build sheet from topix for my defender 110S which is due to arrive in late November, It states Full TFT/LCD Instr Cluster just like in the build sheet you've shared. Trying to figure out does this mean the small TFT screen with manual dials or the full interactive driver display. What did you end up getting?
