Agree, especially hideous in gold. Toyota/Lexus builds some of the ugliest vehicles on the road.
It's precisely that HUGE gaping grille design mistake that stopped me buying a Lexus a few years back.

Then there is also the RX350 in black with that swooping chrome piece on the c-pillar that makes it look like a mini-hearse. Then again, I think you need to be at least 70 years old to buy an RX350.
Last year I drove my father-in-law's RX350 back from FL to NY. It looks upscale, but the drivetrain, handling and ride were mediocre at best. I could tell it was just a tall Camry wearing a tux.

Agree. I personally would have liked to see them bring over the grill design of the new GX Overtrail. I find it interesting everyone is commenting on the grill design, but ignoring the fact that Toyota is now including front AND rear lockers for the U.S. market, and including an appropriate off-road wheel and tire package. This thing is designed to tackle serious trails, or a revolution in South America, right from the dealership floor. I prefer the the Defender aesthetically, but it's clear JLR intentionally compromised the design to be more of a fashion statement than a legitimate tool.
Based on the slew of comments regarding the LX700h, it doesn’t seem to matter that it has ‘front and rear lockers’ and can tackle serious trails or a revolution in South America, if most find it butt-ugly those features don’t mean squat. It is not visually appealing. 👎
