yes, the price I think is reasonable but shipping adds 50%. I emailed them and they are looking at less expensive options—I think the default to express air freight. I’d be fine with a slow boat if it got shipping down to a few hundred.

 

Thank you! if only LR would bring one in for me. Dealership says no. I have a couple months before delivery. I have time to source it out. I noticed the AU spec has a part number VPLEB0442. Is that so you don't have to cut the bumper middle cover? remove the old and insert the replacement left and right? Same ugly silver color? I wish they made it all to match the gray / matt black end caps and molding.

 

Yeah, agreed. I reached out to UK dealers and a UK parts distributor. Neither could help. I wonder if a local independent with acces to Land Rover genuine parts could order it. Honestly don’t mind supporting new defender mods though, just need freight worked out.

oh you’re in OC? Me too. I typically use west coast rover. Joined SoCal Land Rover club?

 

I'll look into both. OC Rovers has not replied to a request so I may just drive in. I have a local shop in Seal Beach that works on Rovers. They may be willing to take on the install. Also considering a subscription on Topix. I want to try and install the domestic outlet. Can't find anything on where the inverter is to be located.

 

I came up with an idea on how to install the bull bar without importing in all the components.

Have the dealership installVPLEP0427 / VPLEP0490 without the winch. Purchase the AU Bull Bar, VPLEP0448, through Scuderia and pay less for all the shipping by omitting the winch assembly. $905.00 plus shipping. Well shipping is $2,881.27. If the entire assembly is shipped from Scuderia the cost is $3,138.91 for shipping only. Not much of a savings.

Maybe i can find a Bloke in AU to send to me or a buddy I know from NZ who imports cars and boas.

yeah Scudaria was on my list too but they emailed back that they couldn’t get all the needed parts.

 

If you look at my pics above, I bought the gloss black pieces for either side of the bullbar. Not the silver ones. They do exist. VPLEB0442 - DEFENDER X ONLY H PANELS - black pre-cut to fit the AUS bullbar (I bought these)
the other ones -- you can buy them in the silver, or just cut yours.
