Well, if true, this is pretty crazy. I've never heard of this in the auto industry before. The dealer told me JLR only builds around 10,000 Defenders a year. I wonder if thats some sort of capacity cap or if they specifically limit production for some reason.

 

They may stop building 2022s, and they may start building 2023s, but one thing they can’t do legally in the US is allow any 2023s to touch US soil prior to January 1, 2022.

 

I know everyone wants to special order a defender buuuuuttttt except for the D300 vs D400 engine, all features, yes all features can be added after the fact! LR Retrofits and Freddy at British Auto Specialists in Gardena can engineer any factory option to be OEM!

clear sight mirror can be added
Rear locking differential can be added.
Adaptive cruise hardware is present just needs to be turned on.
TR2 ATPC CFTR is present just needs to be turned on.
factory tow hitch can be added tow software just needs to be turned on
All exterior fixtures can be bought at least at 50% on the dollar on Alibaba and Aliexpress

If I was on the outside looking in and waiting until 2022 or 2023 I would be on Cargurus and Autotempest shopping for my desired engine and color!

Just curious ... so if the software feature are turned on by a third party. Wouldn't JLR know that there's been some sort of unauthorized attempt made there that may get reset on the next software update? I mean unless it's done using the same genuine JLR softwares or something.
