Default New Defender SVX

I’m thinking this thing is coming. It has to. They scrapped the Discovery SVX partly because the current SC 5.0 V8 is on its way out and IMO it makes more sense for SVO to launch the SVX trim on the new Defender platform as a 2021 or 2022 model with likely a BMW 4.0L or 4.4L Turbo V8. What do you guys think?

I honestly would prefer a SD6 option, but a nice V8 performance option would be great too. The issue would be to find tires with enough sidewall and traction that will have the speed rating to warrant a V8 performance engine as Defender running on 22" wheels don't make too much sense IMO (that is whey they have the RR models).

Yes for true off-road it would be ideal to have a 17” rim or smaller. However three issues that come to mind with going smaller diameter rim on the Defender is 1) brake clearance, 2) roof load requires a specific size wheel, 3) calibration of electronics if overall wheel/tire diameter increases. A V8 doesn’t help this equation. May have to see if we can build a custom forged wheel with smaller diameter but enough offset and clearance to fit the brakes and not throw off the electronics.
