When my Defender was working well it was the best car I have owned!
sorry to hear that. I know you’ve built a mighty fine rig. What more problems have you had recently. I know of a few you had in your year review thread. A built Taco would be most excellent. I’d love to get one some day.

Thanks all for your feedback and recommendations. I’ve decided to pickup a 110 S XDynamic P400. My biggest challenge was finding one close to my ideal spec. And in the end, I got 5/6 of what I wanted.

Tasman Blue, P400, Vintage Tan interior, Meridian Surround 700w, Tow Hitch, Advanced Off Road Software, 20” wheels…not 22 ugh, Clearsight, and 18 way adj. Seats.

What options were missing in your wish list?

Beautiful color too.

A quick search in this forum an you will see the average people are being quoted for the headlight alone is $4k to$5k.
Actually replacing for free because both were bad on purchase. If they weren't? Not a big deal, the tele module is only 400-ish and easy to replace, the DRL chip is less than 100 bucks and only requires removing and disassembly of the headlight so not a crazy repair I could do in an evening.

You claim to have never had a problem vehicle in 300+ vehicles, including 19 Wranglers. That’s either utter bull**** or your definition of “problems” is skewed dramatically from that of the rest of the world, due to either your unique resources or to the internet persona you’re attempting to create. You should really learn how to read forum postings before lashing out. I said I owned over 300, 19 being Wranglers, and that people say THEY are a piece of junk but I've never had an issue with a single one. The 'matters not to me' comment is entertaining, since clearly it was necessary for you to emphatically voice your opinion in opposition...while not understanding what was originally written.

My definition of 'problems' are mechanical failures that require a trip to a shop/dealer/specialist for repair. As for the 'statistics' for reliability, I've had supposedly reliable vehicles break and unreliable vehicles never have an issue. My LR3 with over 100k miles was a tank, my 200 series Land Cruiser had issues. Personally, my views on problems vs reliability are completely different. A problem can be some simple-to-fix annoyance vs reliability when a vehicle can leave you stranded or not operate.

Big question is, if you're so enthusiastic about rovers being unreliable, why are you in this forum? I joined to have discussions with enthusiasts that try to help each other with knowledge & information. Ah well, matters not to me...

Hey, you're excited about your new car. Good for you. I hope you enjoy the crap out of it!

As for your question, I'll refer you to Post No. 5 in this thread, in which I proclaim my 37,000-mile 2022 as having been literally perfect and never having needed to visit the dealer. I don't use that fact to try and refute the reams of data that support the idea JLR products are well-below average in reliability. And I also had a crappy experience with my one Wrangler (which I love dearly), and excellent, well-above-average reliability out of two XJ Cherokees and a couple of Grand Cherokees; none of that refutes the reams of data that identify Jeep products as bottom of the barrel also.

19 is a lot compared to my one, sure, but compared to the 200,000 JLs a year that go out the door it's nothing. Just remember: the plural of "anecdote" is not "data."

Cheers.

LOL I paid $1600 for the 21,000 mile service on my V6 but only $900 on the V8 😉

The 21,000 mile service on my P300 was $961.45. So based on that and a very recent oil change for my FPace at the same dealership for $170 just made the $400 for oil change seem high to me.

Completely understand. I personally don't take the data as law, considering what the definition of 'reliability' is based on with those numbers. I know I'm different, but don't view things such as a light going out, rattling trim, ect as a reliability statistic. Again, I know I'm different and my profession allows some forgiveness of worry, being able to accomplish some repairs on my own. Definitely entered into LR ownership expecting some inconvenient issues, just hoping none of which leave me stranded. This 110 has been brilliant so far and I'm absolutely loving it!

My apologies for a mildly heated exchange with you in this thread. I understand your point!
