Default New Member - First Land Rover (2020 Defender)

Hello forum,

Picked up a P400 SE yesterday in Pangea Green to replace my 2020 Rubicon. I adored the Jeep but I wanted something different after building that one to go a long with my other rides and I have been eyeing the new Defender since it started shipping here in the US.

Here she is, a blank canvas to make my own.

First order of business is getting a tow bar installed at the dealer. I snagged one that was in stock but after looking at the directions it looks way more involved than any hitch I ever installed including programing for the wiring harness.

I also plan to ditch the factory tires and go with a 275/55/20 BFG KO2 or Nitto Ridge Grappler. I plan to keep it stock ride height as I need to get into parking garages and this thing is already as tall as my Jeep was with 3" lift and 37's.

I just put on 275/55 20 Nitto terra grappler 2. No lift. No rubs (thus far) So far, so good.
they are reputed to be most quiet. Good road performance, will try them off the beaten path in the coming weeks.

I've had those tires before and they do great. I am wanting something a little more aggressive in the looks department for this rig though.

I found the 18" Nitto TG2 to be disappointingly noisy on my old LR4. The Ridge Grapplers (both of them LT, E-load) were noticeably quieter on pavement, despite the more aggressive tread. If they made a 19" Ridge Grappler that fits the Defender I would be all over it, but unfortunately they don't.

Congrats. Your Porsche needed something more sophisticated than a Jeep anyways.

Saw two in Homewood last week for the first time. Looked much better in person than what I expected.

Nice. Wish the defender had real bumpers like the Wrangler.

Those aren’t Ridge Grapplers.
