New Pivi 4.0.0 update is incoming

Personally, I have no complaints and I want it to automatically dim when it gets dark out. I don’t find the short period and minimal amount of dimming (for me) to be a problem. Once past that transition period (slightly dimmer than my preference) and the sun sets, the display is perfect (dimmed for low light/night driving). It’s also perfect all the other times, bright and clear (day time driving). If I hadn’t read about the dimming issues prior, I honestly wouldn’t have even given this a second thought. I certainly wouldn’t want to turn off the auto dimming and manually dim the display every time it got dark out or I drove into a tunnel. That’s why I think the issue is actually one of the two scenarios I posted earlier.

Can anyone show pics of their Apple Maps in the IDD showing not north up while not actively routing somewhere?
Mine is like most others here… whether it’s the full screen or just on the side, it’s zoomed quite far out compared to when I use the pivi maps. It’s always north up (unless actively routing) and randomly gets stuck too (often doesn’t show the arrow either when it’s stuck)

@holtenc Do you use wireless or wired carplay? I always use wireless (except for the rare times i need to charge) and mine never shows heading bound unless I have an active route entered. But today as a test I connected via wired and after a force close of maps app on the phone and relaunch the IDD then showed heading bound. I then disconnected the cable and it quickly went northbound again, but then right back to heading bound. I'll see if it actually remembers when I drive later today though.

The map is still kinda zoomed out and it’d be awesome to change to a 3D view or use satellite view but it’s a lot better than having it always have north facing up

I also read about the dimming issues with the Interactive Display prior to taking delivery of my Defender and now that I’ve had mine for about a month, I think there’s two possibilities. First possibility is there may be varying degrees of dimming from one display to another. So some may dim just a little, while others may dim significantly. The second possibility is that they all dim the same but each owners perspective is different (subjectively dim) and what’s just a bit dim to one person is nearly impossible to see for another with the same display. Mine definitely dims at dusk and other moderate to low light transitional periods. Dimmer than I would prefer? Yes. Difficult to see or dangerous, no.
Jokes aside, the dimming IDD hasn't been an issue for me this week, and not so surprisingly, it's been 80-90 degrees and full sunny for about a week now. It's much more problematic on overcast or very cloudy days.

My 110 is currently in the shop to replace headlamp washer nozzles. I have a Jag F Pace for a loaner and see that its Pivi system has a working Weather app, however last time I checked the app in my own car before it hit the shop it was not connecting (I recall there was a supplier issue at one point preventing service).
Am I to believe now that all systems have a working weather app as of quite recently and should I expect my own app to connect and work when the car is back with me too?
I know it’s kind of a redundant app but I do love having it on the screen and miss having it accessible in the Defender since I gave up my old V90!
