Just called and talked with a very pleasant lady at Nitra who confirmed that they are open and Defenders are being built as we speak.

She also mentioned that they were, in fact, finishing some during the "holiday" as she called it.

I import from this region and, in my trips to Russia, Estonia, and the Czech Republic, I assure you, I've made many people laugh.

I've danced on the side of a Russian traffic jam to a boom box, jumped out of a midnight vodka boat tour, been bombed off of Klukvennaya samples in sketchy gift shops more than I care to admit, and generally loved every minute. Great people.

 

I searched online and couldn’t find any video of the production line of the new defender at nitra. I found some images but no videos.

There’s video on the Range Rover production line, but I’d love to find one on the new defender.

There are videos on YouTube and a lot of articles with photos. The plant is very sophisticated. It’s all very interesting reads especially how advanced the whole process really is.

Do they still get "holiday" in August when the plant has been closed for all of July?

 

Yes I have found videos of Nitra and their range Rover production line on YouTube. But as I mentioned, I couldn't find any video on the new defender production line.
