The only thing I can find is the Goodyear Duratrac in 255/65R19. It is 32.05" tall by my calculations.

Yes, the Duratracs is what LR launched the Defender with for all the media drives. There is actually a very cool video from Namibia that is visually stunning.

I bought my Defender! Offroad packs, tow pack, no sunroof and 18 inch steelies. Will be purchasing new offroad tires soon.

Are we 100% sure the 275/55/20 fits without mods? I'm about to buy a new wheel
setup and want to make sure this will work.

I have asked many and all say all is good. Literally ordered my KO2s today.

I researched a great deal about the options to replace the Michelin’s (255/60 20)
I would have preferred keeping the same 32” OD but such an oddball size to find anything all terrain, so to stay under the 32” I had to go 275/55 20- ~ 31.89” OD. I know corgi_express commented about the 265/60 20s having a tight fit, and that the 275/55 have had success. I concur. Haven’t gone too far or tried all conditions or ride heights but the fit is good. They are neatly in the wheel well and their width is perfect. Will be adding the wheel arch guards, but it’s fine without, honestly.
Chose Nitto Terra Grappler 2, so far so good. We did a 80 mile hwy drive. Good response. The Nittos have a reputation of being more quiet than other A/Ts, I’d agree. They’re not as planted as the all-season Michelin’s but had good performance and held the road as expected, nicely. Dry, sunny day so no wet traction to comment on. We ended on a gravel path, also expected characteristics. Firm road character and responsive steering, all hone way around. No rain in the forecast so it will be awhile to assess...

“Protector” ( big fan of Galaxy Quest, and it’s a pun) is a family runabout, barn car, horse trailer rig and my hobby off roader. Took her to the LR owner day in Asheville, on her OE tires and it was ok but felt anything more, pretty muddy day, and she would disappoint, hence the A/T tire search. Wranglers were not high on my list but did consider them.

That is good to hear about the TG. I have ran Nitto on several other vehicles with great success and mileage. The last set of TG2's I ran on my Daughter's 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk over 28K miles and they still look brand new! The tread is barely even worn. We just traded that vehicle so the wheels and tires that were on it are sitting in my garage. But I have always had good luck with TG's. I however don't think they are the quietest AT tire on the market. In fact, I found them louder than most. Not enough to annoy me or anything, but they weren't as quiet as say a Goodyear or Michelin. I have even had good luck with Toyo. And I am anxious to try out their new Open Country AT3s. It looks much nicer to me than the older AT2. I just ordered new wheels for my wife's Defender, but plan to keep the stock Goodyear ATs until they are slick.

You mentioned Asheville? Are you from NC? We are in Winston Salem.

I have the Nitto Ridge Grappler 275/55/20 E Load range which is 32.13 inches tall and 11.18 wide on factory 8.5" wheels. The tires fit without rubbing at sock ride height before I put on the 1.0" Proud Rhino Lift.

Charlotte. Going back to LRE in a week for another , longer and different trail I think.
hoping to hit uwharrie in Jan or Feb.

nittos have a hum, they’re not silent, no ATs are. It’s not very noticeable. My second set of ATs so I have little to compare.

Im new to Land Rover, what is LRE? I have been to Uwharrie with some buddies in Jeeps before, but not driving. I am new to the odd roading scene in general, as I have always been afraid to tear up our vehicles. But my wife is ready to go see what her Defender can do.
