It's because most people are just sheep following those trying to sell crap you'll never use in places you'll never go..

Did anyone anticipate the OCTA going with something larger than this? Thought there were some spy shots with beefier rubber. According to these official press images, they went with 275/60/20

Falken is larger than the ko2s (32.6). I read somewhere on fb group that anything larger than this didn’t work without rubbing.. personally I would want some buffer to be able to chain it up during winter… I live in SoCal so the few winter trips don’t quite warrant dedicated snow tires.

The standard 255/60/20 has limited tire choices compared to a slightly wider 265/60/20. To fix JLR mistake some have gone and replaced with smaller calipers to fit an 18". My question would be: what's involved in making some extra room for a 265mm tire, and thus keeping the oversized rim from JLR? I'd prefer JLR to fix their own tire/rim problem, but they don't seem inclined, so wondering if anyone has tried to just deal with the Brontosaurus rims? I ask as the Octa now has a 275mm - and maybe JLR did alot to make room. But maybe they didn't do much work, and other trims could do something to find some extra room? As much as I'll love my Defender 110 when it arrives, I'm completely disappointed JLR is making it without giving adequate consideration for tire choices. Their Peter Pan fascination with marketing an illegal (and felony at that) top speed has made aftermarket tires for Defenders more challenging for the law-abiding Defender going at most 70 or 80 mph. There was no reason they needed to do that (other than imaging I care if Defender can do 130 mph on the highway, which I don't). Oh well. So do the wheel arches allow for simple mods that will fit 265/60/20? (this would be for a P400 with air)

You can fit a 305/50/20 with no rubing issues..32" tall on stock rims.

New member and new owner of a Defender 90 P525 her.

I really love the looks of your wheel tire combo.

I was under the impression from reading somewhere that 18’ rims would not fit P400 or my P525, due to brake calipers were too large.

Is this a wheel tire I combo that I can actually git fit on my 90 p525 without having brake clearance issues?

I saw some P400s running 18” wheels.
I was under the impression that was not possible due to brake caliper clearance issues, that you had to stay 20” or 22” rims.
I am also the owner of a new P525 90 , I thought I had read the P400 P525 had the same brakes and had the same wheel requirements.
‘Is it possible that certain aftermarket 18 rims will clear the brakes on my P525 Defender 90 v8?

Why would you want to add so much sidewall flex to a tall, short wheelbase truck with soft suspension and high horse power..?
That is a recipe for disaster on the road..

Coming from a 2dr Bronco on factory 17s with 35” tires. I am thinking it would be just fine on 18s with 32” tires.
