Default Non-Authentic Accessories and Add-On's

I saw a post about Amazon having a very legit looking Defender spare tire(tyre) cover and was surprised by the lower price tag and the great reviews.

What other knock-off/non-authentic items do you have or do you recommend?

Side steps.

The aftermarket ones are just as good as the OE (l've tried both on my 90) and they are 1/5 the price.

I have a copy of the factory roof rack. Made in all black to match my defender. Cost was roughly $900 with tax and shipping to my door.

I have a knockoff gear pack also. Paid $280 shipped to my door. Finish on it is factory good. The lock and hinge mechanism is pretty nice also.

I also have a knockoff ladder I paid $320 for. Seems decent, no issues with the lock or hinges but I lubed everything when I got it.

Last I have a cargo separator net that keeps the dog in the way back. $39 shipped eBay. Doesn’t rattle, easy to take down.

I bought a knock off tire cover. Finish on the painted surface is meh, but it was cheap so I don’t mind. Most people wouldn’t be able to tell. It didn’t come with a grommet to drain it, but I sew marine canvas so banging in a breather was a snap… actually it was a bang bang bang…

Time will tell how all of this adds up. I live in an area that uses calcium chloride on roads. If it all looks good in the spring we are golden!

I have one in matt version, cover paint is easy to scratch, otherwise ok.

Yup. And mud flaps.

They're sitting in my spare room waiting for my garage floor to be poured so I can install them. 🙃

I just ordered the aftermarket front skid plate on eBay. Should have it early next week and plan to install. I’ll update when I receive it and install it.

I bought a set of 4 mudflaps on Amazon for $50.quality seems good, generally a knockoff of the OEM "classic" style. Mounts differently (better?) than the OEM-not as much removal of parts to get to places you have to drill.

Fronts seem to be spot on. Rears have an extra molded area. Does anyone recognize what vehicle, these would fit? Vendor doesn't appear to know much about LR models.

Update: definitely avoid this set.
Amazon Amazon

I don't know if there is a higher end Defender model with different bodywork that fits these rear cutouts, but it doesn't work on my S, and the seller is difficult to work with on returns.

^ There is a link on that amazon page to report a product issue. Maybe we can all send a little feedback to help drive the process. I sent one that says it doesn't fit the vehicle model being described.
