Hey all - I wanted to gauge interest here to see of there are enough of us to consider investing in flying Mark out to upgrade our trucks.
The details (per Mark):
- Time.per car. 20-60 minutes.
- No Ala cart pricing. $1k per vehicle because of my travel time.
- You are happy to pick chose what options you want.
- Ive done 35 vehicles all of them have sota updates with no problems of my software it stays. If you'd wanted me come back out travel expenses but no programming charge. But no sotas have erased my programming.
- Infrastructure i would prefer a hard wired internet connection high speed. Ive done it wireless but its much safer wired. I have a tmobile Hotspot but wired is safer.
- I would also need the Dewalt big battery charger from home depot. Someone Can buy it use it and then return it. I can try to bring mine but idk if tsa will let me check it in my checked baggage. I will leave it in my checked suitcase.
- I also have a 300 foot ethernet cable I'll pack as well.
- Obviously a pick up and drop off at my hotel room.
- Order a subway sandwich or a burger for lunch since I'll be doing back to back vehicles for 4-6 hours minimum.
- a ride to the airport in the morning.
- The main differences between p300 is disablng stop start ok. Versus p400 not able to. Proximity locking and unlocking works on some vehicles but not others. We will just have to see. Everything else should work fine between vehicles.
- Let me know if you have other questions.
- Also to save money if people have airline miles to lower price of biz class ticket that would be great too.
- Also I'll need an advance when ready to buy travel info and full deposit on 5 vehicles

im ok with the pricing etc but not sure why 5k beforehand is a requirement. If folks are willing to book business class ticket and fly someone here then it’s a real deal and it’s not like folks are planning for a no show. In doing business commitment/trust goes both ways. And we are talking about people who own LR defender. If I’m doing business and if someone doesn’t show up (4K instead of 5k) after contributing to airfare/hotel etc it will not be a big deal for me.
I understand the risks but wild case what if things don’t go as planned? Will there be a refund of 1k (Sucking up airfare/hotel not being refundable) or should we be haggling at a parking lot or a private residence at that point?
it’s simple to me: we share the cost and get airfare/hotel etc and pay 1k each upon completion and testing of activations.
but whatever…

lol Nash. I’m bringing my dewalt battery tender as checked luggage. I’m asking for a pick up from the airport. If TSA has a problem with my tender or it’s siezed I can use jumper cables but a high powered tender is much better because when doing updates the voltage has to stay at 12v. After 5 sotas none of my updates have been erased. I’m not asking for a dewalt battery tender to be purchased, I just wanted a backup power source if mine is seized.
