I saw it with the wrap at the dealer. I liked it much better in person than online photos. Online I see a bit of purple/gray in it that looks a bit off. In person it is much nicer (to me).
I have a Carpathian V8 with the partial wrap. I didn't see enough difference to justify the $ vs my V8. My dealer started it up and it has a nice exhaust note. I put on 33s on my V8 with a slight Gap tool lift so they looked similar side by side except for the wide flares on the Octa.
I have the Charente grey OCTA, satin wrapped by independent party. Like it much better than I thought I would. Was difficult to find the color in the dealerships when ordering. The ttint does seem to change with the light.

could you post pics of yours with the satin film? Mine was supposed to come from the factory that way and torn whether to do it or not.
Sorry, the OCTA is at the lake house and I am not so no pics at this time. I think the satin finish adds a lot to the look (plus protection, etc.). I also had a ceramic coating applied to the whole truck. (PPF all Charente grey). My internal analysis was that the factory Ppf was a bargain and fine for a $90,000 car. Unfortunately I paid 80% more for the OCTA so decided to have it done locally (considerably more expensive). I’m happy but might have been just as happy with the factory PPF.
Quite a fan of the Charente and enjoy it more than grey and black on my previous carpathian edition. I, too, was nervous about it when I ordered it. The result is a more sophisticated grey. Still obviously a masculine color in person.
i am with you. seeing more and more real pics of the Octa and would love to upgrade my v8. i went from a p400 to v8 a couple years back and felt the price difference was reasonable.
i cant digest another 60k price difference from the v8 and Octa. i have had a lot of seat time in the Octa engine in other BMW M’s and its really a far superior v8 than the 5.0. even the v8 in other LJR models sourced from BMW is night and day.
the SV and Octa use the BMW M 4.4 variant and others just use the 4.4 twin turbo.

I would think about it if the price difference was 20K to 30K. For now I will enjoy the V8. And I do like the supercharger sound when revved up. Probably be the last supercharger I ever own. Will keep my eye on the Octa over the next couple of years. The new colors didn't wow me.

It's worth the price difference. I, too, was worried the bang for buck wouldn't be there when I first put my order in. After 1k miles in the Octa, it absolutely is. The response, the handling -- absolutely staggering compared to V8. The suspension is truly a marvel. Add the exhaust being far louder and animated (the random crackles and pops just going around a roundabout) and you get your bang for buck. Regarding the interior, i'd say much better. They (JLR and youtubers) aren't doing a good job of presenting the differences there well. The seats are far superior to the v8. I expected less comfort, not more. The sound system with the speakers in the seats is incredible. Allows for truly full sound, even just at volume 5. The entire headliner is Alcantara like on the steering wheel and seats of the carpathian. Nobody mentions that.
The v8 was my favorite daily driver and just overall favorite car i've ever had, period. Made me nervous I'd miss it once I had the Octa. The V8 is great.

I don't miss it one bit.
Not quite to 1k miles on mine but totally agree. It really is mental and fun to kind of be teased a bit as you get to break in. Motor going to insane mode and exhaust has been opening up as well.
