Oil change
Just changed the oil and filter on my D250 at 5,000 miles.
Was it necessary? Probably not, but it makes me feel better about leaving it until the service at 21,000
The job is very easy to do, if you get a suction tank to remove the oil from the dipstick hole.
The oil filter is right in front of you and takes about five minutes to change.
Needs torquing to 25Nm which l did with my torque wrench but it's basically tighten until the screw thread bottoms out and then a gentle push on the wrench.
Just under nine litres of oil, l used Mobil 1 0w/30 which was quite expensive but there's various other options.
l won't change it again now before the first service, although the app is telling me it's due in 12,000 miles which would be a total mileage of 17,000
so it's come down due to the type of use the vehicle is getting.

l used one of these.
lt works great. The tube that you insert into the dipstick hole isn't long enough to reach over the front wing to the unit.
But you can join two of the tubes together and that worked perfectly.
The Sealey one is twice the price and probably better, but this worked fine for me.
lf the link doesn't work (it's on Ebay U.K.) type "fluid extractor" into an Ebay search and that should bring up the device.
