Oil Quantity confusion
I departed from my normal practice of changing the oil in our Land Rovers myself, and I am regretting it.
I had my 2020 110 S P300 in for installing a new coolant thermostat assembly, and I went ahead and asked them to change the engine oil, as it was due.
I followed my normal practice of checking on the dealer's work, and it turned out they had installed a bit less than 2 quarts MORE oil than is specified -- it was not hard to tell, as the oil was "way up the the dipstick." As 1.9 Quarts more oil is the specification for the 3.0 P400 engine, clearly the mechanic set the amount wrong and then DID NOT CHECK HIS WORK BY THE DIPSTICK.
I put the LR4 into the dealer this morning to clear out the sunroof drain tubes. I dutifully told the dealer of their employees failure and asked they shop supervisor be made fully aware.
Fortunately, I did not off-road my vehicle between the oil change and the draining of the oil.
So it goes .... Enjoy !!

Two litres overfilled is quite a lot, fortunately the engine won't have been damaged but it does show a lack of care.
lt shouldn't be necessary to waste the new oil by changing it again, just suck out the excess through the dipstick with an oil extraction device.
