Options for Boot Storage in 90
I really like the 90 and have placed an order for a MY23 X. Only nagging issue is the lack of storage in the trunk and the raised bar at the back of the seats. Has anyone seen or know someone that could make a foam floor covering that would raise the floor of the trunk space to the level of the silver bar- this would make it a flat (or flatter) loading space w the seats down. Thinking this makes getting golf clubs in/out easier..

That video does not address what I understand MacMia to be asking. What MacMia wants is for the whole cargo area to be a smooth load floor without the obstacles of the silver metal bar (if I am understanding correctly). Since the metal bar is a structural member of the chassis, it is not removable so the only alternative there is to 'build up' the floor of the rearmost section of the cargo area. I've not seen it done on a new Defender 90 per se but tons of overlanders have done just this kind of thing in myriad configurations. I think the best setup would be a custom fit drawer covered in similar black carpet. That way you would not lose out completely on the storage space as it could be used for small items.
I think MacMia is much less concerned with the slight upward angle of the rear seatbacks as addressed in the video. I would be very hesitant to make a habit of removing the rear bench as shown as it is not really meant to do that and you will soon wear out the plastic components that hold it down. The manufacturer had no intention of the end user removing the seats in that fashion as evidenced by the fastening system.

The main concern is that when you lay the golf clubs across the metal bar, that impacts the shafts of the club in what is typically a soft bag. The solution that I was thinking about is more in the raised floor category and was thinking something as basic as a covered foam mat that you could remove to access the storage space of whatever is stored below the normal floor..
