Double locking (aka superlocking in some countries) is disabled in the US anyway - you can always open at least the front doors from the inside, for the same silly safety / liability reasons that also prevent Land Rover from enabling global windows close around here - so it should make no difference whether you push the lock button once or twice. You do need to make sure all your windows are fully shut, however. A tiny crack is sufficient for the update routine not to start.

@sblvro - I'm not sure, but I recall reading a post where it said you needed to be on 2.6 or 2.7 before going to 3.0. That may be what's going on. Then again, my aged memory isn't what it used to be and it could be any reason!

whelp...disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes did the trick and it updated right away. nice to have the wireless but when I connect the Defender to my phone's hotspot the weather app still doesn't work. only works with the ATT data connection.

That's correct, you need to be on either 2.1.6 or 2.1.7 before the update to 3.0 can occur. Only thing is, that "pre-update" update should happen in the background, I don't recall being prompted to update to 2.1.6 in early November, it just happened.

I don't believe any of the native apps (weather, Spotify, Deezer, TuneIn) are going to work with the car connected to your phone's hotspot, all of them requiring a valid "Online pack with data plan" subscription (through AT&T in the US) via the optional built-in eSIM card. But Android Auto and CarPlay should have their own versions of weather and all those music apps (plus a bunch more), no?

OS 3.0 brings 3D Camera at speed now too. Was going 76 today and the camera's don't go away. It doesn't recommend using it over 25 mph though, but it never turned off on any view. On road, Off-road, or Towing + 3D view and Underbody Superimposed view.

That sounds more like a software glitch than a new feature. Pretty sure LR never intended for cameras to work at high speeds.

Well it now says the "Cameras not recommended over 25 mph" message, that wasn't there before. So they must know. Highly doubt its a bug or glitch.

Default So far, so good

I got the update yesterday. I was using Carlinkit previously. It seems to connect MUCH faster than Carlinkit. And, seems to work quite well.

Occasionally, if I unlock the defender before starting it, and wait a few beats too long (eg 2-3
min), it seems to not quite connect the CarPlay. Carlinkit did the same thing, so it’s not LR, but probably Carplay itself.

Otherwise, super pleased with this update so far.
