OTA upgrades – what’s the low hanging fruit? Post your ideas
One thing that’s a fairly specific use case for me is for the wiper to activate just before the heated windshield turns off when I remote start it. A few times I’ve had it running while it’s snowing, so it’ll melt whatever’s on the windshield. But if I don’t get out to the vehicle before the timer turns off the heated windshield to wipe away the water, it all freezes back up and then I have to scrape it if I’m not wanting to wait and turn on the heat to melt it again lol
@chuyn - To confirm, you are saying your heated windshield goes on when you remote start your 2020+ Defender from the Land Rover App on your phone? And melts the ice on your windshield? What model year / variant do you have / what market are you in? You're sure it's not just the defroster doing this?
One of my complaints (alot of us actually) is that the remote start will not turn my heated windshield on. I get side mirrors and rear window defroster (lines on the rear window) but never the front heated windshield. It does turn on automatically when I get in the car and step on the brake -- but after it's been idling for however long before I go outside to the car.

I’ve got a 23.5 110 X and am in Canada
It’s been a bit but I had a chance to confirm this. The truck had been running maybe about 10 min before I got out, but I definitely saw that the portion with the heating elements was melted and without heaters there was still frost on the windshield.
None of the defrost lights on the buttons were lit but I’m not sure if that was because it had already cycled off by the time I went outside, or if it just doesn’t light up when the car is running from the remote start.

-- Camp mode (prevent battery drain when doors are open camping, etc)
I found this and can program it! What the setting is that you can open the trunk and the interior lights wont turn on and you can enter the vehicle and exit the vehicle without triggering waking up the vehicle and the interior lights stay off when the trunk is open. Also there are interior light clock settings that I changed so the interior lights only immediately come on when the doors open and immediately go off when the 4 passenger doors close and you can eliminate the time delay of the interior lights staying on after the doors close, and when you walk up to the vehicle and disarm the car, the lights wont turn on until you actually open a door.

The Defender is a brilliant towing machine, but one feature would make it stand out: In the maps, allow for an entry for desired maximum speed so that route calculation can be optimized taking that into account- neither fastest (don't want to go at 85 mph) nor shortest (don't want to drag a trailer down neighborhood streets to save 1/10 mile), but somewhere in between.
Oh, and while I'm at it, have a setting to allow the cruise control to exceed one's set speed on long downhills - maybe up to the speed limit? And finally, update the database of local speed limits so the prior features would work.
