P300 VS P400 Highway Driving
Hello,
I am thinking about purchasing a 2020 Defender, either a P300 or P400. I travel throughout western PA (occasional traveling to NYC from Ohio) eastern/south Ohio and West Virginia. My concern in the P300 is the power? I will not be hauling anything, just 2 kids and luggage, which I am after the 3rd row seat so I can separate the kids on trips to reduce fighting! LOL! The P400 I have no concern, but why spend another 10k if I don’t have to? I have not had an opportunity to go test drive one, I just haven’t had time and the local dealers only have P400 models. Any suggestions and or thoughts would be appreciated!

I suggest you take a look at this video, as well as visit this fellow's other ones. He bought a P300 110 in the UK and is posting useful information:

I receive my P300 110 in two weeks and will post my driving initial driving impressions at that time.
Also, you may want to read my comments on the P300 test drive in the string named P300 vs. P400

Yes, I watched on a video the tightness of the 3rd row, I have a young family, so hopefully as they grow, I can stagger the seating arrangement so the 3rd row occupant will have more leg room by keeping the 2nd row seat down 🤷♂️ Just my thoughts, looking forward to physically being able to get my hands on one to see it in person. Thanks! Cheers

Well, yesterday I drive to my local dealer (48 minutes away) They had a 4 cylinder and 6 Cylinder. I had the opportunity to drive both, city and highway driving. I thought driving both would make my decision easier, well it hasn’t! I was presently surprised by the performance of both! But especially the 4 cylinder! Holy smokes! I can’t believe a 4 cylinder can have that much power, I was expecting an old dog! The 6 cylinder did NOT disappointed! that one was fast! Dang! It was super fun! I also got to explore all the trim options to weed out what I do and don’t need and or want. I am going to take my time weighing all options and possibly order a 2021, but not ruling out finding a great deal at the end of the year or beginning of 2021 on a 2020 left over, if that is possible. My dealer told me that they are getting 2020 inventory now, late do to Covid and will continue to get them in. They are taking preorders for 2021 now, he didn’t say when it would arrive if I l preorder, but wondering if the delay of the 2020 will screw with inventory or over inventory at some point? my goal is to have my new defender by spring if next year. I am leaning towards the 6 Cylinder, cheers!

I ordered the 2021 last week and the anticipated delivery by on my paperwork is 1/1/2021. I am sure that is more wishful than realistic.
Did you notice a lag in the P400 during acceleration? A few online reviews have brought it up as a negative.

Nice! Which engine did you decide on? I assume you paid sticker? No, I didn’t feel or notice anything, I had it going about 45 MPH on the on ramp and then punched it, I hit 75 in no time, It had amazing acceleration with no hesitation or problem.
I also didn’t comment on the 3rd row, which wasn’t too bad, it’s perfect for my kids and probably not bad for a short ride for an adult, you can move the 2nd row up and back like a front row seat, so if the 3rd row needs more leg room, you can move the 2nd row seats up and not the whole row, each seat moves independently, very neat!
