Default Paddle gear shifters - just on V8 or a standalone option?

(context: build homework)

The dealer (the same that said I can only order packs) said that they are a standalone option, but the only way to have them in the build I found so far is to get the V8 version, which I don't want. Is there a way to get them on a different trim?

V8 only option from the factory. Can be fitted later by purchasing the V8 wheel and having the coding done to enable.

There's an additional control in the middle of the right side of the V8 wheel, what does it do?

The only button my V8 has on the right wheel cluster that my X didn’t have is heated steering wheel button.
