Default Painting muffler?

My Defender is coming in July, but I noticed that you can see the muffler - or metal piece that covers the muffler, from the back. I had a Wrangler in the past and it had the same thing and I used high heat black paint to paint it. Has anyone done that and do you have pics? Thanks

I painted them on my previous L663, so it was one of the first things I did to this one as I believe, even when dirty, they don’t stick out so much as they do when they’re silver/grey.

Yup, I plan to paint mine as well. First thing I notice from the back when I pick mine up this weekend. Pretty easy DIY.

I'm surprised they don't make some kind of plate that covers it. I'd also like to get the dual exhaust pipes - I've seen some for $500 and some for $25, from china. Any ideas on a decent quality set that look good?

There is an aftermarket exhaust that has a "shield" but im not sure if it can be purchased separately...

I just received my 23 Defender and I am doing the same. I did it on a Jeep Wrangler 392 XR and it held up very well. I am going to scuff it with some sand paper than use some etching primer and header paint. I took my time and taped everything off and it looked factory.
