Question Park Assist

According to my printed manual, my Defender has "park assist" that should find a suitable space and park (either parallel or perpendicular) the car in it. However, I cannot find the icon for it, and the LR online information doesn't mention the feature. Is this feature supposed to be present, or not?

Never seen it, but here's a link to review for you - https://www.landrover.com/ownership/...rk-assist.html

Wait, where did you get a printed manual?

I don't think these Defenders have park assist. I have a top spec X model, and no park assist.

FYI: I had this on a previous 2014 or 2016 sport L494 (can't recall which one had it), and it curbed 2 wheels the first time I tried it in a parallel spot in San Francisco. Bummer.

My research indicates that the Park Assist is not available in the US. And it is not listed in my printed manual, nor the website manual. Growing up, it was always looked at, ‘if you can’t park your own vehicle, you shouldn’t be driving.’ Too many nanny controls in cars now. When I get in my Defender it takes me 9 taps on the touchscreen to disable the annoying Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist, and that is after disabling the Auto Start/Stop. I mean look at Tesla, how many crashes while in autonomous mode does it take to outlaw such a stupid idea? Search YouTube for the video of a state trooper driving alongside a guy sleeping while his car is flying down a highway at 60+. If you don’t want to drive, take mass transit.

Even Hyundai has Smart Park, seems strange it is not available in the US if they do indeed offer the option in other regions.

I have a fully specced X MY 23 in Europe and it doesn't have park assist.

Searched iGuide, my printed manual, LR site, TOPIx, and Workshop Manual. No Park Assist that I can find anywhere for the Defender. It may just be the years & country (US) I'm searching from. Can you share pics of the printed manual you have? It would help to isolate which one it's coming with. Land Rover typically keeps the same hieroglyphics across models. You can see videos of the Range Rover and it should look like the icon on the lower right (P with an arrow to a slot). If you see that on your PiviPro, success!! Do a YouTube search on Range Rover Park Assist and there's several great demos re: how it to get it to work. Basically the screen tells you when to shift into forward / reverse and you just handle the gas.

Park assist wasn't available as an option on the Defender in the UK
