PCV Recall

PCV Recall
Dropped my ‘20 110 P400 off to have the ‘A’ Pilar repair done, and when I picked it up discovered they also completed the PCV Recall (Recall #N627). Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they were proactive, but I never received notification of the recall. And after a quick search found that people on other forums mentioned it more than a month ago. Also, it wasn’t even that long ago I had it in to have the front skid plate installed and they never said a word.
Could this have anything to do with the fact that I technically purchased a used Defender? It had 400 miles on it before the original owner returned it and bought a Kia Telluride (there’s no accounting for taste).

Sorry, just found the other thread discussing this recall (https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...2022-a-111894/). Feel free to delete this, although in my defense the other thread didn’t mention PCV in the title.

I haven't gotten a notification either btw... but when I type into the LR Topix site, it shows up as an outstanding campaign for my VIN (2020 MY). I'm taking it in early June for something else, I thought I might not mention the campaign and see if they bring it up proactively to see how "on it" they are

Has anybody specified what will happen if the valve fails? Is it a CEL for emissions failure, or does the software shut the car down or something so you don’t pollute the world?
With the issues several people have had after the dealer did the recall, I may just do it myself like GrouseK9, but I’m just as likely to ignore it altogether until it fails, unless that leads to stranding the vehicle for some reason.
Of course, if a hose clamp deteriorates in the meantime, watch out!!!

@NoGaBiker - 1) Check engine light comes on. It only gets turned off if you go to the Dealer. That in my book is the inspiration to avoid it. 2) The engine revs high at idle. With gas prices today, I'd like to avoid that one too!

Just got back from the dealer who did the "fix". The engine is idling noticeably rougher and I'm hearing a lot of turbo blow off even with the windows up. When I put the car in park earlier today the engine rpms went crazy and were bouncing between 800 and 1200. Back to the dealer we go...
