Default PIVI Won’t Turn Off???

Went to start the ‘22 P400 yesterday and noticed the PIVI center-screen was still on from the day before. The Defender started but gave me the “Low Battery” warning.
Now after every engine shutdown PIVI remains on. I have the latest software version, and I’ve tried the reboot several times - no luck. (The main instrument screen is operating normally).
The only fix I’ve found is:
1) turn off engine
2) open the door (this is the point where PIVI normally turns off)
3) turn on electronics (press start/stop button without brake pedal)
4) turn off electronics (press start/stop button), PIVI turns off

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Edit: locking the vehicle also shuts down PIVI (I don't lock the vehicle at home in the garage)

The screen stays on for me too, but only for a few minutes afterwards. Locking it shuts it off. Also, I’ve seen cases where I push the power button again (don’t touch the brake)- and that shuts it off.

Now, the real answer is that you shouldn’t have to do all that. Though it may work- it should just shut off on its own. Worth getting someone to look at it when you get a chance.

I use CarPlay, and the other day I pulled into my driveway and shutoff the engine. As expected, my music still played (Spotify) until I opened the door; I left the door open as I ran to the mailbox and then returned to my truck to grab a bag I left on my seat. As I approached the open door, the PiviPro screen came on and resumed playing my music. I closed the door but the music kept playing. I had to lock the door in order for it to stop.

The 3.3.0 update certainly connects to CarPlay much, much faster, which I appreciate, but I find this behavior odd.

I think it's part of a recent update. @FormerJeepJunkie nailed what works for me. I noticed that if I lock my doors, it all shuts down. Did that work for you?

Yep. Lock it up, or press Start/Stop button twice (without brake pedal).
Hopefully Land Rover knows about this and will include a patch in the next software update.
PIVI is like Microsoft Windows - you never know what’s going to happen next, but you know it’s going to be “interesting”.

Seems like JLR WANTS you to keep it locked. The LR Remote on the iphone will ping me to lock it up 15 minutes after parking if I was silly enough not to have locked it.

Yep had this happen yesterday to me. Waiting for food in a restaurant and tried to watch a video with sound. Car was a good 30 feet away but was still sending the audio over there, which made me realize the car was left unlocked. I locked the car and the video went back to playing local audio.

One thing is there were complaints about the length of time the Pivi allowed to run without shutting down when someone was sitting in the car. I wonder if they extended that time idle based on requests but created the unintended event of staying on all night.

Must be a latest update issue. That new feature may not be working as intended for all of you.
