Default PNW Defenders Assemble!

Just a quick shout out to any Defender folks in the PNW.

Will be kicking about Tahuya tomorrow morning (9ish) if anyone is interested in some fun muddy action. With all the recent rain there should be some decent wading to be had.

No worries Nash. I see you had plenty of fun at Lah Dee (Dah) flats with MC and his monster truck.

LR Seattle are doing a Defender owner's thing on 6-3-2023 at Reiter Foothills. I got an email from them yesterday. I've not been there before. Looks a little gnarly. $50 a driver. Includes a sammitch and some tutoring I think.

Got a few ideas for the upcoming months. The outings with friends section of the forum is deader than dirt so I'll probably just use this thread. Might be useful.
  • Cabin Creek
  • WABDR (probably just section 2) with a spot of camping
  • Fortune Creek when the snow clears in late July/August
  • Stampede Pass
  • Mine to Market
  • Tahuya again. (South loop if I get my sliders. Other tracks if not. )
  • Naches
  • A bunch of others forest tracks too.

I'm sure northern OR has a bunch of great places. I need to broaden my horizon.

Always great fun exploring with others, especially if they've got a roo-bar-mounted winch haha.

@GavinC I'm still in the dog house from Memorial Day shenanigans which included a college reunion of sorts, so grounded down here in Oregon this weekend. Ya kids have fun up in Seattle ! Keen though to get PNW Deefer gang together. I'd say there are 4-5 awesome built rigs with owners who really use them now in PDX ... would be fun.

No worries

It's that 8th beer bong that gets you every time.

I'm also bringing axe, Maxtrax and a shovel but if anyone is interested, Gallagher Head lake via Fortune Creek is the plan. It's a rough track, technical in spots and plenty of fun. Overnight camp planned but not required. Next Saturday morning. Should be a little warmer than my solo trip last October.

I’d love to get together with other PNW / Seattle-based peeps sometime. I haven’t been out since I lived in AZ and was part of a group there. Back then I had an LR2 for a while, then Discovery Sport. I obviously wasn’t trying to rock crawl with all their Jeeps, but I definitely put them all to shame with the terrain response and traction control of even the LR2 and Disco Sport.

Now we have a fully stock 2023.5 Defender 110 X (unless you count the custom floor mats, some storage cubby stuff, and door handle pocket guards Also I have the dreaded 19” Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure tires that everyone on here hates.

I’m not looking for anything too technical or to mangle any body sills or anything (a new front skid plate with the recovery eye exposed is my next purchase! I like the factory one, but would need it painted black and the price gives me heartburn…) - but would love to get out sometime. We’ve only lived here just over 1 1/2 years so are new-ish to the area.

This past weekend was fun. Simple terrain for the most part. This would be a great spot for some sloppy snow wheeling come Nov/Dec before it's snowmobile only.

Headed to the Cle Elum area Friday/Saturday for something a bit more exciting.
