It does sound more farty than snap crackle and pop. One would hope it sounds better in person.
I think there is definitely an art (no f in art) to exhaust tuning. JLR do it as well if not better than most—you only have to hear an F-Type V8, V6 and all SVRs to know that—they are epic! The Defender V8 sounds great in the promo videos I’ve seen s will. But they are all supercharged engines. Turbocharged engines tend to sound muddy in comparison. So this may be why the Fi Exhausts version doesn’t sound as good as one would expect.

from FI website that appears to be a p300 in the video which makes more sense on the sound.
