Default Radio on with engine switched off

Several times I wait in my car for long time (especially when my wife does the shopping ...). But I'm fed up with switching on the ignition every couple of minutes to get the radio operating. I know I can switch the radio on also with media on/off button, but the system turns off after some minutes.
In short: is there a way to make radio (and media system) operate longer?
Thank you!
Miran

Not that I'm aware of Miran. The Defender is very protective of the battery. You should probably go shopping with your wife and spend some quality time together.

I have read on some forum for some car somewhere that there exists a “Drive-in movie” feature that extends the time the radio will run while on the alternator. I don’t know if they add the feature to Land Rover considering they probably don’t have drive-ins in the UK.

there isn't an accessory mode for the ignition? like on other cars I've owned you hit the start button without touching the break, it doesn't start the car but turns on the accessory mode which powers up everything but the AC / Engine subsystems. I haven't gotten mine yet to see if that exists, but it's been in most cars for decades. Used to be the first click on the car keys back in olden times when you got a square and round key.

I remember seeing some settings in the ccf architecture. For example I turned off my interior lights when opening the trunk because when we camp we sleep in the back of the vehicle with the seats down and now when i open and close the trunk door the lights don’t come on and attract bugs. If you live in Los Angeles and want to hire me I’m happy to experiment and see if I can keep the radio on thru the settings. Mark 323 237 9773

I’m in the southeast and I just leave the engine running while my dog and I wait in the car for my wife. I hate grocery stores.

Sadly no. The user experience in this case still needs to be revisited IMO. They have added a popup recently in one of the updates that allows you to keep things on a bit longer but I'm not sure that will be satisfactory for most people. It's improved from what it was like before, so I believe they do listen to feedback. Basically what it comes down to though with this vehicle is if you want to keep the radio on or more importantly for some us keep the hotspot active you're going to have to just leave the vehicle running. I get it that it's protective of the battery but tbh 10-15 minutes seems like it would be reasonable, I believe it starts looking to shut things down after just a few minutes. I think overall you'll like it when you get yours but there will definitely be some head scratchers mixed in there that I suspect you will not be real happy with.

There is an accessory mode with my truck. Just press the start button without pressing the brake -
