Default Range on full tank

After the last software updated, I noticed that after I filled up my 2021 P300, the range increased from 395 miles per tank to 435 miles, which I thought was really weird.

The 395 seemed to be about right, because driving from New Orleans to Memphis (400 miles), average 80 mph, I have to stop for fuel just outside of Memphis. But I went to Orange Beach, AL last weekend (235 miles each way) and it took slightly more than 1/2 tank to get there, so I seem to actually be getting better gas mileage.

Just wondering if any of you are seeing this?

I saw some articles, one suggesting that the software update wiped previous mileage stats, so the car was starting all over with no data and, in any case, the displayed numbers don't mean much, they're just calculations that don't take weather, terrain, or other efficiency factors into account.

Thoughts?

Don’t know about the mileage, but with an 80 mph average, you’re a rockstar…

I haven't noticed an issue since the update. While my mileage range has recently increase to about 400 miles from around 365 on my P400, I attribute that to the warmer weather in upstate NY.

however I have noticed a different issue with gas mileage. The rig reports better mileage for city compared to highway, weird.

hybrid powertrain for you. Its far more effective in the city, being able to recuperate energy through regen braking and speed you up more efficiently.
i also see good gas mileage in city driving. Hwy mileage is around 21-25 mpg usually. Would be happier with a diesel but ill take what i can get.

Considering the size of my P300, I'm pretty satisfied with the gas mileage. I hadn't considered the warm weather factor, I'll read up on it. I was wondering if it's possible for LRJ to improve gas mileage with a software update that pushed out different engine tuning/mapping, like those tuning chips advertised for sports cars claim to do.

Our D250 is loosening up nicely and showed 554 miles range when I filled it up at Costco yesterday. We are normally a mix of motorway, country and city driving, our trip computer memory was unaffected by the 3.2.0a update that was downloaded last week.

Had a chance to do some long range mileage testing when I drove from New Orleans to Los Angeles and back for my kid's graduation and a little vacation. On the way back, hit Joshua Tree, Vegas and the Grand Canyon. Some really fun roads and interesting country side. Took a few overland trials, but nothing at all taxing.

On ECO mode, used cruise control at 77 mph or 84mph through TX, where speed limits were 70, 75, or 80 mph, I averaged 75 mph and 19.2 mpg.
In AZ and NM, speed limit was 65 or 70 mph, I drove through the night and averaged 81 mph and 17.6 mpg.

At the speeds we were driving, I was pretty happy with mpg.

Best tank had 412 miles on the trip meter when I stopped for gas, when the fuel indicator light blinked on. With Eco mode off, mileage was substantially worse, less than 160 mile per half tank!

In Eco mode the car can feel sluggish, when passing and pulling off from lights pressing the gas pedal, but using the cruise control button to increase speed, the car was super responsive.

What’s kinda weird is that my P400 is suddenly getting way better gas mileage. I’m at 5,000 miles. It’s improved at least 20% give or take. My trip from San Francisco to San Jose used to be an easy quarter tank or more, it was half a quarter this time. Same with return trip. Strange…
