Default re: alternative to OEM rear cargo cover?

I'm curious if anyone has come across an alternative to the OEM fabric cover for the rear boot area?

The OEM one is prone to failure... the bungy cords that secure the left/right sides come out of anchorage too easily and there is no way I've found to repair them.

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Happy Sunday!

Do you have any pictures of the failure point? Curious what it looks like. Mine is pretty new so it hasn’t changed a bit. I want to make sure I can look out for the problem early.

2 small black bath mats with the rubber backing. I had them left over from the 2021 winter of covid when you weren't allowed in the ski lodge and had to put your ski boots on in the parking lot.

If yours broke during the warranty period you should be able to get a replacement for free.

I'm curious if you unscrewed it and took that part off if there's either a clip that was holding the elastic in place, or if it was simply a small knot tied.

Looks super easy to check and fix. That nub with the hole might even pop out into two pieces that clamp around the string part. The two nubs do look different from each other.

The dealer is going to warranty it but I’m curious enough to explore these suggestions and dismantle the clamp part. I’ll let you know.

*Edit* Picked up my Defender today; my TCU needed a new battery to turn off the SOS 'limited feature' warning. I haven't had a chance to dissect the clamp but was shocked to learn the flimsy cargo cover retails for $800!
