A representative from JLR got back to me today with this message regarding my recent data opt out privacy request.

this should help settle the concerns that many have.

I would still like to know what data it is they collect. Anyway you can post their privacy policy?

"When We Sell or Share Your Personal Information

We may provide your Personal Information to retailers, vehicle service providers, and business partners who can use that information for their own business purposes."

So they do sell to insurance companies...

Defendher: You say "this message" but I don't see anything. Can you repost it or explain what was in it?

Anyway, I also received a response. It was an acknowledgement of my request and an attached "survey" letter, which the response implied I was required to fill out or they might not respond after all. They also gave themselves 45 days to respond, and I expect they will use every one of them. Adding "friction" to interactions is a familiar pattern in these sorts of matters.

Definitely going to contact them about "Right to Access" when I return from my current trip. I'll post what they disclose if someone doesn't beat me to it (without specifics to me). LOVE this thread and the details folks discover.
