On my 2020 110 HSE (third row seat option), my center second row seat does not have a tether anchor as shown in the manual. Anyone know why this would be missing? The anchor point is present on the two outboard second row seats. Would love to (safely) get a third car seat in that center seat on occasion to tote my kid's friends around.

 

Is your picture of the second row set of seats or actual pictures of the third row of seats?

 

The pic is from the manual showing the back of the second row seats, showing the locations of the tether anchors. It shows that there is one located behind the second row center seat, but there is not one on my second row center seat. The third row seats do not have and tether anchors. I wonder if the third row option cancels the anchor point behind the center seat in the second row? Seems odd that it shows in the manual.

 

That's odd. I have a center tether in my 2023.5 110 5 passenger. (just a datapoint for you I guess)

Sometimes I wonder if these things are being hand built in a shed somewhere based on all the goofy differences that we see!

Thanks for the confirmation that it does exist! Who knows, maybe the 2020 did not have it or it could be a variation in the options, looks like they changed a few things on the seats. It is kind of odd that it shows up in the manual for 2020. Maybe someone with a 2020 will chime in.

 

Could it also be a 5 vs 7 seat?

 

It's interesting how that middle seat folds down as well. Is that a different option, like a pass through?

 

It's not present on middle seat of second row in a seven seater. You get two tethers only.

 

That makes so much sense. Fold down and access third row. It must be part of the 7 seater option.
