Default Rear corner storage boxes from Powerful UK?

Anybody purchased these rear corner storage boxes? Seem way more reasonable than those carbon ones that were 2K and seemed to have a bunch issues. Anyone?

I haven't but I did see that Lucky H8 has some too now -- that look actually pretty rad. They look maybe better than the Powerful ones because they don't have those dots on the lids... ? IDK what brand they are... the little mountain pattern looks familiar?

The price differences are huge.

The Plumb ones are eye watering.

Lucky 8’s are $1488.

Powerful UK’s are $385.

I can’t believe the functional difference is significant. These things appeal to me, but I haven’t yet figured out what I would put in them.

I have the LK8 ones. I am very happy with them so far.

The Lucky 8’s arent 1400 bucks unless Im reading the site wrong. looks like around 4 bills which is fine. I’d use them for smelly mtb pads and probably some recovery gear?

Well, the Lucky8 website has two different prices; if you put it in your cart, it's $1488.

That makes much more sense. Odd that the first click on the boxes takes you to “ladder and boxes” but the price for just the boxes isn’t insane.

I like them too but I wonder ...

1) if that lock cylinder will jamb up and rust solidly shut over time (like the ones on the locking Rotopax twirly mount do after 12 months)
2) what I will put in them? actually my current favorite for the left side would be the dog's leash because it's often gross or muddy and it would be right at my fingertips before opening the cargo door to spring the hound out. and for the right side, maybe 2 or 3 soft shackles. I feel like those are always needed even when I dont want to go in my full recovery gear bag. I haven't really come up with much else to put in there other than dirty wet socks after being in the creek.

@GavinC texted me a photo of his cylindrical idea for these he should post it up here.

Looks like it’d make a great liquor locker!
