Default Rear Door won't lock

Today my left rear door would not respond to the button on the door handle or the keyfob. It was locked and I should have left it that way. I went inside the car and opened it now I can not lock that door. Frustrating that there are no manual locks on the car.

I had noticed that if I push that button too many times the system seems to lock up and had to use the keyfob. Now I am leaving town for a week heading to Bend, OR and I can't lock my car. Good thing that the trip is in safer areas so probably won't get anything stolen.

Talked to dealer and they said known issue and I have to bring it to them. There should be a fix but I search and can not find one for the L663. I wonder if I had the Gap IIDtool like I had for my LR3 if I could get into the system.

Anyone else?

I also have the mudflaps were installed wrong and the right front speaker has a buzz. The mud flaps I looked at youtube video on install and I can tell that the port installed them without removing the wheel well felt. So now a hard turn and they rub like a card in a bicycle tire.

I have the 2023 110X

hey!! so sorry!

i had the same issue on my 2023 110x except with the front driver door. not being able to lock also means you cannot remote start.

my dealer initially thought it was the door actuator. they replaced it, but still didnt work.

it got escalated to jlr for service help.

guess there is a power module that controls the actuator in the door that was getting 12v but only outputting 7v (dont remember the actual values).

parts manager at my dealership is an awesome guy. the part was backordered with no estimate. he called dealerships starting on the east coast and worked his way west. found a dealer in california with the part.

they overnighted it, installed and no problems since.

maybe that info will help in solving your issue!!

Are you able to show pics of the mud flaps installed wrong?

Sorry I was on vacation and did not get to this. Long drive up to Oregon in the Defender. It is hard to see but the problem is if you watch the videos or the install and look at the manual you can see that the wheel well felt has to be taken off and the metal bar is installed tight to other metal to make a solid arm to hold the flap in place. Mine they seem to have placed on top of the felt probably to save time so that it moves quite a bit. They have my car now so can’t get better photos but I do have a few. The flap should be thighter to the body.

Yeah there should be four bolts and as you say it looks like they didn't install the lower two.

To do that you need to fold back the wheel arch liner, and then remove the wheel arch plastic trim to get it back properly. The action of doing this will break all the clips which then need replacing.

But it's not THAT difficult. I had to take all this off to remove my rear bumper and the lower two bolts are a swine to get at. Much easier if you remove the wheel.

Guess the dealer didn't fancy doing it !!

I put it up on my friends lift and realized I had to do all the things you mentioned so since the dealer offered I took them up on it. Then when the rear door would not lock it made it even easier.

I bought my car from a dealer who is about 2 hour drive away. There is one about 40 min from me but these guys had the car I want and accepted MSRP.

I was getting worried about how to get things fixed but they not only delivered the car to me for free but in this case they drove up here and picked up my car and left me a Range Rover while they work on it. Funny thing is when they picked up my car I got a call from service saying we just got your second key when can we pick up your car for programming and I had to tell them look behind you it is probably in your shop right now!! Haha

I am no idiot I know I paid a lot for this car and the dealer is getting paid by LR for these warranty items but it is still nice to know that they will go this far to help me out.

The Port is the one who installs the accessories like Expedition pack. I assume this means they have some shop down there at the port.

Biggest problem is my wife drove the Range Rover and she said “this is what 100k should be like”. She does not feel that way about the Defender.
