Default Rear rattle - dealership near Westchester, NY

Hello,

I have a CPO 2020 Defender 110. Since I bought it, it has had a very annoying rattle that seems to originate at the back of the sunroof. It has been three times to the selling dealership at over 3 weeks each time and they have not been able to reproduce it/ fix it despite sending videos and offering to drive with tech. While everyone there has been pleasant and they offer me a loaner, I have found their workmanship lacking: multiple door re-alignments needed for sticky back doors, engine cover grommets missing, interior panels not fully re-fitted, and the last one was a loose wheel arch that was hanging by a thread. It had lost its clips and had broken tabs from I assume a service. I partially "fixed" it with some Chinese clips but I really don't want to go back to that dealership.
I plan to write a letter to the GM whenever I have time.

1. Do you have recommendations re: dealership servicing around Westchester, NY? [South CT OK too]

2. For the sunroof rattle: I have checked/tightened rear passenger grab-handles, second row seat catch. Boot catch was re-aligned. Silicon greased seals. Triangle storage space had been padded before. Rear dampeners looks OK [5 seater]. Any other suggestions?

Thank you

Have the dealership check the aligment of the rear door latch.

typically after you've had service, Land Rover sends out a survey. If you rate the service poorly, someone will contact you to follow-up and try to resolve issues. At least that is my experience.

Survey probably going to the original owner. I'm still getting asked to renew the data plan and I traded the Defender 18 months ago. Seems to be just a tiny hole in their change of ownership processes. Good luck with the sunroof, I spec'd my 90 out to leave that thing off on purpose, one thing more to go wrong. Any possible chance it's something loose with the backup camera in the sharkfin?

I will check. The sharkfin looks in place and backup camera is good. It does feel like a wire or one of the sunroof drains loose and hitting the headliner/metal roof.
I will ask them to check the alignment of the backdoor.

My only other maddening noise was a "thunk" on uneven ground/flexing and it was resolved (by me, despite trying to get the original dealership to look at it) by tightening the rear seat latches. My prior car was an LR3 so I learned how to seek help and do it on my own. This is my first car with a warranty so would like to have the experts do it, especially if the headliner needs to come down.

Yea I had problems with seats too, I had the manual fore and aft on the driver's seat and the track area would click with weight transfers in stop and go, like every red light or stop sign, so frustrating when the dealership blew it off and didn't address it. I would've had to escalate that one to JLR corp had I kept it. Now I find myself looking at used southern LR2s, LR3s and LR4s, it's an addiction. Especially since I'm driving a vehicle I'm delighted with so it's crazy thoughts. Just thinking about buying something for cash and getting rid of my car payment entirely for once. Anyway good luck with yours, let us know how it goes.

Wanted to follow up.

Land Rover New Rochelle was great. They immediately noted the rattle, kept me informed and sorted it in one week. Headliner came out: a harness was rattling on the roof cross-bar. I should have gone straight to them instead of wasting my time.

Thank you for the recommendation.
