Rear View Camera/Dash Cam combos?
So I drove a Tesla for three years and fell in love with its ability to record things. I caught some entertaining things over the years, like shooting stars, however the Defender I have coming (2023.5) doesn't have one. I've been wanting something that won't be ugly & obvious, and is a decent way to get things out of. One thing I found was an Echomaster system that has a rear view mirror camera that is a combo camera+DVR for dash cam use. Anyone familiar with these? Good/bad/ugly?
I've read about the LR one, it seems extremely complex to install, and expensive, and an afterthought with limited capabilities. I'd prefer to have one that isn't visible/obvious, and am looking for suggestions. Wish you could record what the cameras themselves put out, they're pretty robust.

I'm going to be installing this tonight

I installed the Blackvue Dash cam 2 channel like a few others here. Very good 4k video and high quality, unobtrusive hardware. I've been very happy with it.

I’ve been using the Fitcamx for a month now. I Just have the front cam which installed in less than 5 minutes. I spent more time cleaning the glass afterward. Picture is great, downloading the vids can be a bit cumbersome if you are using Apple CarPlay. But after the initial few days of checking things out I never download any vids anymore.
The only issue I have is that it stays on if you leave the doors unlocked, which I do in the garage. So I just have to remember to lock the doors. No biggie.
hope this helps

I have the fitcamx in my Polestar2. Haven't hooked up the rear cam yet, but yes they were simple to install. Wish they were a little adjustable, I get more of the dash than I want.
