Version 3.3.0 just out and it brings some nice updates. Weather at location and destination is back, vehicle health status is upgraded and has a new and better UI, the app responds better to dynamic font sizing and it's generally had some nice UI upgrades.

I can’t remember if they had a shortcut to the iGuide and a link to book a service appointment before the update, but I thought it was worth noting! Correct me if I’m wrong.

EDIT: just found out when you hit the “book a service” icon, it takes you to the UK website even though I’m in the US with a US spec car. Not sure if it’s a glitch or if this feature is exclusive to the UK market.

 

You can drill down on the maintenance items, too, to get for example data on individual tires or individual brake components etc.

 

On my app for my new 25 - it shows the Octa. LOL

3.3.0 is the latest iOS version.

 

While the new update looks good, and there is a lot of info available, the reliability is still garbage. I went to the gym this morning, and didn't want to carry my key around, so I used the app to lock my Defender. When I came out, I tried unlocking the truck, but the app was showing my home address as the location and that the truck was unlocked. I kept trying to "lock" it again, so I could hopefully then unlock it, but no luck. Then I tried to start it, since it will only start if the doors are locked, and was thinking maybe that would let me unlock it. Nope. It started the vehicle, but then the app again showed the the vehicle as not running and unlocked. I reinstalled the app, turned my phone off and on and restarted the app a dozen times. Nothing. The only thing that worked was calling my wife and asking her to drive to my gym with my spare key.
This was the second issue in the last couple weeks. Last month I was away for four days, and when I got back to the airport, I tried starting the vehicle on my way out of the terminal. But, the app said the truck was in sleep mode and the only way to wake it up is to start the vehicle with the key. How does that make any sense?!?! As long as you travel for three days or less, you can start your car, but any longer and you can warm it up or cool it off when you get to it.

 

I updated to 3.3.0 and the only thing different is the weather is there. No Health stuff at all. Perhaps you need the online data pack to see the rest? (Mine's expired- only renewed remote.)

 

Mine has also stopped showing the health stuff, just as of today. I also let the data package expire a while back, but I did just renew the remote. I'm going to assume, at least for now, that it's just a glitch.

 

I let my subscription lapse and I cant say Ive missed it. But I have noticed since that when i use the built in navigation I ike it better than carplays mpas. Curious what Im actually NOT getting with the subsrciption.
