Default Removing the ladder

Hi,

i need to remove the side ladder to be able to mount my roof rack. How do I get this plastic cover off the ladder to get to the screws on top?

The plastic cover is likely going to break its plastic clips when you remove it. No way to avoid.

The clips are metal as specified in the instructions. You should be ok, but I would try to use trim removal tools to try and minimize the chance of something breaking. Also maybe give an LR parts dealer a ring to get replacement clips before you start.

The clips are metal but the plastic tabs they grab are what will break. Sorry for my lack of clarity earlier. Simon and co encountered this in their powerfulUK install.

The ladder is designed to not be an on and off again accessory.

I reckon you could reattach it with a screw of some sort. It's not an area where you can really see. Leaving it of may not be the end of the world.

Did it this morning. ALL of them broke off. I will just go ahead and order a new one. It is like 30 Euros so why bother.
Thanks for your advice

If it happened to me during the removal, I would consider reattaching it with my hot glue gun, or some 3M double-backed trim adhesive tape.

Can you post the part number for the replacement cover? I did the same and like you broke most of the tabs off. It’s been held on for the past year with industrial double stick tape, but if my local dealer was more helpful I’d just order the replacement cover.
