Request: CCF Export from ROW / EU Defender with Amber Indicators
Hi everyone,
I’m working on a project with my NAS-spec Defender and exploring the coding differences needed to enable ROW / EU amber rear indicators (instead of the NAS red/brake light combination). I have installed brand new EU version taillights on the vehicle.
I already have my own CCF export, but the specific Region/Market coding parameter that controls this behavior seems to be indexed differently in my file compared to the forum reference lists (MultiCAN-817 in some threads, but that line in my CCF is unrelated).
👉 Would any members with a ROW / EU Defender (with amber indicators active) be willing to share a CCF export (with VIN/serial info removed) for comparison?
This would help me and others pinpoint exactly which parameter needs to be changed in the latest IIDTool templates.
I’m particularly interested in:
The Region / Market coding field that flips NAS ↔ ROW behavior
Any lighting-related parameters (DRL, fog light, indicators) that differ in your EU configuration
Your help would be greatly appreciated 🙏 — and once I’ve mapped the differences, I’ll post a summary here so others can benefit as well.
Above person is right. It’s definitely not just software.
1) Different taillight assemblies (hardware)
2) Different CCF coding
Also FWIW I was in the UK in 2022 or so and in looking at all the Defenders puttering around, I thought the way their taillights worked looked silly compared to ours. I much prefer the NAS illumination pattern to the UK/ROW pattern. That said, I would prefer the orange turn signals, but keeping the NAS pattern. If that makes sense.

I hope you get your answer to this. I'd love to figure out how to get the amber turn signals and patterns as well... understanding one would need the hardware as well as the coding updates. For some reason, I remember speaking to Hunters Prestige on this and they may have said its more than just the lights and the coding, but also has something to do with the wiring as well.
I finally managed to get everything working. I wanted to share the details in case anyone else runs into the same issue.
Even though the Land Rover service manual stated that the rear indicator wiring was already present in the loom, it turned out it wasn’t there at all. To make the rear blinkers function correctly, I had to:
Run one extra wire to each tail light, and
On the opposite side, route the blinker feed all the way back to the BCM
To make things more confusing, none of the expected wire colours matched what was shown in the diagrams. I ended up tracing and identifying the correct indicator signal wires manually before tapping into them.
After completing the wiring, I used the GAP IIDTool to set the rear brake light function so it operates correctly without the integrated indicator, which completed the retrofit.

MultiCAN-570 RearDIOpenLoad New: OL in ON state
I’m including photos of the BCM connections before everything was insulated and reinstalled, in case it helps someone else doing this job.
