Thanks all for the advice over past few weeks- after finally selling my previous car, the search was on for something w black interior( kids.dogs) and both Off Road Packs. Located one in New England, only to be told it was gone when I showed up at dealership. Discovered that the x model has those 2 features as standard ( this would have been nice to know weeks ago!!- clearly not all reps know the product yet) so began the search for an x. Couldn’t find one in stock, they were either selling too fast or had wrong options/color.
I was hours away from heading to purchase another brand when I got the call- the original Gray HSE was available again due to buyers financing or indecisive nature. Drove an hour, wrote a check and now just waiting on delivery. First cosmetic mods will be window tinting and wrap of signature panel/A Panel.
i had about 1 hour to sign paperwork yesterday; here’s a photo of vehicle as I was running out the door!

Congrats, beautiful color. Looks like Land Rover Hanover...still a good dealership even after being bought by the Prime dealership empire.

Congrats on the purchase. Curious with it sitting for a bit and I am assuming being a 2020 model did you get anything off MSRP? Im wondering if the existing 2020 vehicles will start being pushed harder with 2021 models hitting dealership lots now.

I also wanted to note I am also in the RE industry and people are surprised when I show up in a nice vehicle. I am on the valuation side which I never considered to be blue collar, but I guess I don't have the excuse of potentially chauffeuring clients around. I am hoping that the defender will be a bit more rugged looking than my current Mercedes to not give off the wrong vibe.

P400 right? Looks nice. I'm tempted to get a 2020 to see if i can squeeze the dealer for any discount since there's over 100 defenders for sale in westchester county ny

In speaking w a few dealers leading up to the purchase over the phone, there was mention of a little flexibility in price, and I agree w the 2021 arriving at the same time, it will be Intersting what they do. As I was very specific in model, option and color choice and had to purchase by year end, I didn’t have as much leverage .I’d think in approx 2 weeks deals could be had.
I wonder how many folks will know what I’m driving- I have seen 2-3 around my way. People will probably think it’s a Toyota. If they know what it is/cost, I’ll explain the hours of a typical successful real estate agent to them. 😁

yes p400. The 300 is not too popular right now, but there are a ton on the lots. You’re right about inventory in NY. I found a few in Glen Cove that might have worked but sold before I had the chance.

did you test drive the P300 or go straight to P400? I wanted bigger engine and scoffed at 62k price. Saw reviews saying P300 is still solid. I know JLR has tranny issues due to heavy vehicles and underpowered engines so I’m still trying to decide what move is right

I did not drive the 300; there are a few owners here who feel it is adequate for their needs. I just like the extra hp. The 400 is selling better; I’d think the 300s would see a nice discount.
