Would like to see Lucky8 do matte finish. Im sure Im not alone. Best sliders Ive ever had was from ShrockWorks for my TRD PRO. Still haven't seen many come close to their sliders.

Too bad so far they exist only in a photo on their website - can't order or even get a quote for anything for the new Defender from Matzker.

If the lucky 8 sliders offer coverage on the Defender like the LR3 that shiney tank will be fully covered by the sliders.

Given some of the impact damage I have seen on my skids made of aluminum, I don't know that I would want sliders made of aluminum. The skids have quite a bit of deformation from rock strikes combined with the weight of the modern land rover.

Just an update on my Lucky8 sliders. I still don't have the installation guide, so I haven't tried the install yet. I'll post when I do.

Looking at the picture above of the underside with the cardboard removed, the Lucky 8 sliders should cover the shiny air tank. I'd have to measure them to see how far they extend under the vehicle, but they'll definitely cover the that tank.

Lucky8 also has this "The sill guard is installed in place of the standard plastic trim."

These sound very similar in design. Good to have options.

They have released pictures of the armor... Assuming those are even real photos. They haven't sold a single piece to anyone yet - here or in Europe - because none of those sliders or other underbody protection plates have been manufactured for sale up to today. They can't give you even an approximate estimate of when they may be available, they have no detailed specs on hand, prices aren't final... I have been in touch with them since those parts first popped up on their web site a few months ago.

I have the Lucky8 rock sliders ready for shipment to me and will experiment mounting them to the new Defender, once they arrive.

I am presently considering as a first option aluminum bolts and suitable anti-seize, along with some type of bushings, to isolate the Stainless steel slider from any threaded aluminum points of contact, if such are inherently required in the design of how the slider attaches to the vehicle:

I will let you know the detailed mounting joint requirements are in detail, once the slider arrives and I remove the "standard plastic trim" .

I am looking forward to someone purchasing the Metzger sliders and hope to learn from that, as well.

More to come.....

Yep , I am premature.... you are correct -- not a happy situation.

I do like their winch approach, as they conceal it and do not change at all the outside form or size of the vehicle. But, I will hold off, awaiting something similar from Lucky8?

Here is the note from Matzker ...They are willing to let me reserve the product, but unfortunately have no estimate as to when:

Dear customer,
You can use this e-mail to reserve the product Front-Unterfahrschutz mit integrierter Seilwinde 4.300 kg – New Defender 110 - Model: 4006350, which is not yet available for delivery at this time. We will inform you as soon as the product is ready to ship, at which time you can submit a firm order for it within 10 business days.

Don't hold your breath lol. They've never done one for lots of their products. I was willing to write one for them for the disco V hidden winch mount... crickets.

Yes, same here - sliders arrived a week ago and no instructions yet - Frankly, when I have spoken with them, LK8 sounds like they are operating in chaos. Simple install instructions would save them a ton of calls/emails...
