That looks really cool - if I didn't already have the expedition rack I'd be getting on your list

Impressive. Thoughts on a version that does not require mucking about with already problematic A-pillar trim. i.e. a shorter rack? Doesn't look like the front is of much use anyway with no crossbars.

Ill volunteer as tribute for the 110, this thing is all the boxes! I have a sunroof and clearsight though, and I dont know if that helps or makes the prototyping worse?

@CombatNinja Interesting. But a auestion. What does the rack have to do with the a-pillar trim - I may not be zooming into the pics enough? To me it looks like it has no interference / no interaction with a-pillar trim.

from the OP:

7. Mounting requires no cutting or drilling. The a pillar trims need to be removed, and nut certs installed in existing holes to mount the front supports. A bit of shaving is required on the plastic a pillar trim support to give clearance for brackets.

Also, why does it run 'uphill' from front to back? The horizontal side rail definitely starts rising aft of the alpine window. Is that on purpose to clear the antenna, or just a fitment thing at this time that will be corrected? It looks weird once you see it. I'm still feeling a version that stops around the B-pillar of the 110. I don't want to pull apart my highly suspect (and twice 'repaired' A-pillars).

The roof line drops down from front to back at the point where the factory roof rails start. We kept the rack level so that when you put cargo on it it does not slope down in the back. The 90 slope is much more aggressive than the 110 slope. As in the photo, the eye goes to the gear loaded on top, so we wanted that gear to look flat on a sloped roof.

Interesting. I have a 110 and I never noticed the slope. Certainly a better-looking rack than the OEM one. The fact that it is no higher than the shark fin antenna is brilliant. If I got any other rack, I would crash into my garage door if I neglected to put the car into access mode.

Beautifully designed and executed.

This is the first after market roof rack that actually works with the modern design language of the vehicle.

The contour, the geometry and the tubular attributes flow nicely with the vehicle.

Impressive!

In regards to the A-Pillar input, I can see the hesitation to "mucking about" with it.

On the 110, the rack would be considerably larger, I would think if there was 3 rack mounting points on the factory rails, and then a "no-drill" foot at the front would be sufficient.

My Toyota racks all had this, essentially a pressure foot, with rubber contact point that transfered weight to the roof, because an additional bolting down was not necessary, but a weight distribution was.

Changing the front foot from a bolt, to a foot would be ideal for me if it were possible. I love everything else about it. I
