Today, we were driving alone along tidal flats and I got a bit nervous about what to do if we bogged. I know that's what traction boards are for, but they aren't always the solution. Then you then resort to the winch. But today, there wasn't a single attachment point anywhere. I know one strategy is to dig a hole, attach the line to your spare and bury it which would be a total pain in the a$$. With that in mind, I chickened out and back tracked.
But what about a cheap 8 lb fluke anchor? You could put it out there 60+ feet and it would dig itself in as you winched against it. Anyone use something like that or have a better solution than the old tire in the hole idea?
Was starting to get soft at the far end of Kachemak Bay, AK.
