Default Silver Trim Paint?

Well, I got two pretty gnarly gashes in my bumper while unloading some equipment this week. I've ordered the scuff guard to cover it, but part of the scratch will still be visible. Any recommendations on how to repair or what paint code the silver bumper is so I could at least touch it up? Thanks all.

I think there is an aftermarket chequred bumper cover available. Touching that up with touch up paint will look just as bad as the scratch itself. I'd either cover it or have it re-sprayed.

Yeah - definitely going to cover it. Already have the cover on order. My concern is mostly that the cover might not cover the whole scratch, leaving just a bit expose along the edge - so I thought a little touch up pain would help a little.

While I don't have first hand experience with it yet, when I recently received a gnarly chip on one my car's door (from someone else's car door) everyone I spoke to recommended Dr. ColorChip. They can match the paint very accurately. If you order it and don't trust yourself, call a good detail shop and they can put it on.

Thumbs up

The silver used on the bumpers is Starlight Silver Satin MBB

do you have the factory rubber cargo mat? If so, lift it and under you can unbutton a fabric piece to protect the rear bumper while unloading/loading.

It works. I didn’t even know it had that until recently. I use it all of the time now.

shame your salesman didn't share that with you during delivery.

Quick word of caution. There are at least 3 diff silvers used on bumpers of Defenders... there's a lighter silver, a medium grayish silver, and the X models like mine has one that's a bit gold/silver (which I think might be starlight). I found this out when my detail shop kept getting the wrong hood letters from the dealership even when they ordered by my VIN (the lettering matches this silver of the bumper depending upon model) . And then of course there's black etc.

TBH I'd just buy a new rear bumper piece that will be perfect and / or leave it as is

You’re totally correct with the number of silver option available, I was wrong with the standard silver which is Ceres not Starlight. Totally mixed up as we are exploring options to change the standard silver sections on my wife’s 110.

All the colour option are listed in the parts catalogue, hopefully this helps:
