Why even bring up politics here? I was just looking for the fool that left their firearms in a vehicle. I think everyone in this forum can agree this person (if not staged) is a complete moron. No need to drag politics into this.

My 2 cents on guns in cars. Let us face it, it is legal in much of the US. Smart, no not really. My half brother, alumni of 5 different prisons, never bought a legal gun in his life, all were stolen. Myself, after I left my term of commissioned service I became a contractor in war zones, Central America, East Africa. Worked mostly for the UN, EU and such. Never carried a gun in the car. Guns get you killed. You get in a stop situation in a dicey place, they have guns. The second, in fact the micro second your gun clears any sightline of the windows; you die of lead poisoning. Cars offer absolutely no protection. Seen enough bled out bodies in cars with lots of holes in them, Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Rwanda. You know what can keep you alive; cigarettes. Carry them and give them out, usually you will not be killed, robbed yeah, but alive. By '97 I had enough and with no really big holes in my body went back to being a geologist.

So yeah, carry lots of guns in your car, show them off be a big man. Big dead man or filling out lots of police reports when they are stolen. BTW, insurance does not cover stolen guns unless you have them on a declared rider of your policy. Warms my thieving half brother's heart when he see buffoonery like this.

Not sure why the date would matter but if you insist here's a more recent (1/26/22 - hopefully that's not too old?) article on the same subject - TL;DR it's NOT hard to get guns, legally.

I’m going to leave this last comment as I feel it needs more context. Each state has their own set of laws so this doesn’t apply everywhere. My statement was more about, people have this misconception that a person can just go into a Walmart and walkout with a gun in hand without any federal background check. Hand guns are even harder to obtain. As in my state they require a special pistol purchase permit which has to be obtained and notarized at the local Sheriffs office.
My main point is everyone has different views on guns and feel folks should educate themselves on federal/state/local laws.

Anyway to each their own, we all can agree not everyone has the same views. Which I think is awesome. It would be a boring place to live, if we all had the same views.

My personal solution to the "insanity in this country" (as someone posted earlier) and what I practice in real life:

1) No social media presence. No Facebook , no twitter, no instagram, no TikTok, etc...... To each their own, but I have a contact list and can text or email or call anyone that I need to.
2) I only watch local news. 30 minutes in the AM and 30 in the PM if even that much. 24/7 "news" channels are just advertising machines, not information outlets.
3) Go outside and talk to people. Neighbors, friends of neighbors, whoever. I especially like to have conversations with people that have signs on their yards and stickers on their cars that differ in opinions from mine. I don't try to change anyone, I just enjoy talking with people and hearing their stories. You might be surprised how much you have in common. There is always something. And you might not discover that commonality for months. But if you never even say hello, then what?

my 2 cents.

I would definitely insist in getting the Good Year tires. I’ve owned both in the recent years, and now the new Duratrac RT. The new Duratrac RT is by very far a better tire. The tread design allows water to escape tire weight by channeling out of the tire, while the BFG are notorious for aqua planing due to the interlocking design, trapping water underneath. And the BFG are the worst stone picker out there, while my new Duratracs stay stone free due to more space between the lugs. Now that the Duratracs have been redesigned with a sexier more agressive sidewall, it looks awesome and perform even better.

Yeah, but you can just buy from a private seller and poof, no background check.
