What can she do for you? Can you interact with your home setup using the wireless data link?

Had to chuckle at that email. You can control heating your house from the car, it's too bad you can't heat your seats in the car from the house while it's in the driveway buried under a foot of snow. Ok maybe not with Alexa but with the app that's actually been built for the car. Oh well, maybe next time. It's good to see their priorities are in the right place on the dev team.

Completely agree with you. I wish they develop heated seats and steering wheel in the app.

Integration of Alexa required no hardware testing - very cheap to do in a shoestring budget. Integration of new features in the vehicle like activating the heated wheel and seats during remote start requires physical testing and that costs money.

Yes, last night on my way home in the dark I asked Alexa to turn on my porch and hall lights and this morning I asked Alexa in the house to start the car, bit of a novelty but it seems to work well.

I will say that in Feb and March I've called all 5 dealers I've bought fairly decent Rovers from over the years (LR Nashville, LR Columbia SC, Land Rover Huntsville, Buckhead LR, LR Portland). At 3 of them I know/spoke to the sales manager, at the other 2 just rando sales, as my contacts had left in years since I'd been there. 4 out of 5 told me MSRP wasn't going to happen directly or indirectly. One wanted me to buy a winch and some other accessories of about 5 figures, to get a v8 for another 10k over sticker. The one that didn't dodged the question rather artfully.

Default Update not installed

I've got a message saying that the update has been downloaded but multiple attempts at install have failed. I've had my Defender since Dec 2020 and this is the first time an update has not installed. I'm wondering if the tech changed a setting when it was at the dealer a couple months ago. I don't want Alexa, but I do want to keep the vehicle up to date.
