Default 10 June Software Update

Car requested a software update today and it installed flawlessly. I think some of the issues with updates may be the way people respond to the update request:

1. Be sure your WiFi and data plan are on if you have one. I am not sure the WiFi is really required but having both on seems to work for our two Defenders.
2. Leave the ignition on. If you shut it off, the update will fail. I know it seems counterintuitive but it's the way it works. When you close all windows (double check to be sure) exit and double lock the vehicle the update will begin.
3. Do not interrupt the update. Although if you forget and unlock the door and try to start the vehicle, nothing happens other than you get the standard "press on brake" etc and the "emergency braking not available" warnings. But you cannot start the vehicle during the update. I found the update will continue regardless. Just re-lock and alarm and viola!

Here's screens hots of the latest update:

Related question, where is the data SIM on the Defender? I did not order data, but while getting to know the settings, it gave me the option to enable data, so curious as to whether there os a SIM there and if I want to enable it I can.

Funny, that is the exact same message that came with my last update 30 Apr 2021. Version 2.0.7a. I'm in a 2020 P400 HSE.

Buy the center SIM card slot. You can add your own data plan.

In the US models the SIM card is internal and there is no access to it.

I presume the OS 2.0.10e is the latest iteration of software. The message are likely generic and no matter what the update is, only one or two messages may be provided. Kind of like one fits all..

Funny - I had the 2.0.10a software since April. Got a message for update - and went to 2.0.10d today. That really doesn't sound like an update? Don't notice a thing different. Haven't gotten a map update since I received the car last September? Aren't those supposed to download too? They do on our BMW.

New to my 2022 Defender (but not new to Land Rovers/Range Rovers). How do you see the software version in Pivi Pro? When I go to the software update section, it says I am up to date, but has no information about the version.

JLR software updates are weird. I got updated to 2.0.10a from 2.0.7a on Monday, without any prompt.

last night was prompted to do an update and now have 2.0.10d.

can't see any difference yet.

Go to your setting (wheel on bottom right) . On the menu on the bottom is software update. You can see what version you have there.
